Theatre Tokens

Theatre Tokens wanted to modernise their offering and create new ways for customers to buy and redeem gift vouchers. We helped them launch a full ecommerce platform, build a new website and introduce digital gifting. All while supporting over 250 theatres across the UK. The result: a smoother experience for customers and a major boost in sales.
Solving complex challenges
The project was delivered in phases. First, we built an online sales channel for both eGifts and physical gift cards. Then we created a portal for theatres to manage listings and offers. Next came the most complex part, a redemption system that worked across paper vouchers, eGifts and gift cards, with logic to issue change as digital credit. We also built APIs so ticketing partners could accept tokens and added in-person redemption at ticket booths.
Smart systems, better experience
We designed the system to handle 25 legacy voucher formats and integrate with 20 ticketing systems. Our automated communication strategy keeps users engaged with personalised offers, local event listings and rewards; all triggered by location and user behaviour. It’s a smart, scalable solution that delivers real value to both customers and theatres.
The results
Sales grew by 83.2% over two years. Year one saw a 54.36% increase, followed by another 18.68% in year two. Tens of thousands of eGift orders were placed and customer satisfaction improved across the board. Theatre Tokens now has a platform that’s built to grow, connect and deliver a better experience.
